What is scuba diving
Scuba diving is a type of active holiday in which divers use special equipment to breathe underwater and explore the underwater world. The term "scuba" comes from the abbreviation Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, which means "Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus".
The main equipment used in scuba diving are scuba tanks and breathing regulators. The latter allow the diver to breathe from the scuba by converting compressed air into suitable air for breathing.
Scuba diving provides a unique opportunity to explore the water world, meet a variety of marine life, observe colourful coral reefs, and enjoy the unique beauty of the underwater landscape. Divers can dive to different depths according to their level of experience and certification.
Preparation for scuba diving
Before you start scuba diving, you need to undergo special training and get a certificate from an accredited organisation such as PADI or SSI. The training includes a theoretical part, which covers safety rules, basic diving principles and equipment use, as well as a practical part involving training in a pool or open water.
In our dive centre training is conducted by experienced PADI-licensed instructors. During the training, divers learn how to properly assemble and use the equipment, control their breathing, dive and surface safely.
