Legends of shipwrecks, pirates and untold riches have always stirred the imagination and beckoned adventurers. Exploration of sea depths and sunken objects has become a separate direction of underwater diving, called wreck diving.

Easy Divers Dive Centre offers passionate scuba diving enthusiasts exciting dives to wrecks in the Red Sea. All necessary equipment is provided for diving, experienced instructors conduct training courses with the issuance of certificates.

What is wreck diving

Wreck diving is an exciting type of underwater diving that offers divers the opportunity to explore shipwrecks, aircraft, barges and other objects underwater.

Conventionally, diving to wrecks is divided into four categories: swimming without penetrating the object, with partial visitation, full penetration, and dives with specialised work. The first two types belong to amateur recreational racket diving, the others are in the techno category and are available exclusively to professionals with the appropriate education and certification.

For amateur diving, wrecks and their parts, free from debris, rubbish, easily passable, not posing a risk of damage to equipment, are chosen. Rack diving at the amateur level is performed on objects that allow you to enter and return back along the same route, or to snorkel through the object when the entrance and exit are in sight. These are simple dives where it is easy to get out when needed, difficult to get lost.

Ancient treasures of the Red Sea

Egypt is an ideal destination for recreational diving due to its rich history and many historical wrecks. There are many longboats, wrecks and barges lying on the bottom of the Red Sea. Most of them are perfectly preserved, making them fascinating places for underwater travelling.

One of the best dive sites is the British dry cargo ship "Thistlegorm", sunk by the Germans in the autumn of 1941, which sank off the coast of Egypt. On board were a lot of ammunition, cars, motor vehicles, as well as two tanks, several steam locomotives and wagons. The ship sank at a depth of 30 metres.

No less popular with fans of underwater diving is a passenger ferry Salem Express 110 m long, which collided with a coral reef in the winter of 1991 near the Egyptian city of Safaga. Near Sharm el-Sheikh on the seabed is the cargo ship Million Hope, which went underwater in 1996. Some of its parts still rise above the sea surface. This dry cargo ship is interesting because underneath it are the remains of another vessel, the passenger ship Hey Daroma, which wrecked in the same place 26 years earlier.

For wreck diving enthusiasts, Egypt offers unique advantages for recreational diving:

Historical richness. The country is known for its historical sites and archaeological discoveries. Rack diving here allows you to explore wrecks with cultural and historical value. Diving to them allows divers to feel connected to the past and see the history preserved underwater.

The richness of marine life. Shipwrecks and aircraft wrecks attract a variety of marine life, making diving underwater even more exciting. Sea turtles, fish and stingrays live in the coral that grows on the surface of the objects. Watching them in their natural habitat is a special pleasure.

Variety of places for diving. From the famous Tiran Reef to the shipwrecks in Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt has a huge variety of dive sites and wrecks to explore. Each site has its own unique characteristics, offering divers a unique experience.

The opportunity to take professional diver courses. Our dive centre offers training, support and equipment rental. Experienced instructors and guides will help you learn racket diving techniques, ensure safety and share their knowledge of local underwater attractions.
